As part of the School of Computing Days, Code Geeks proudly hosted the much-anticipated Pixel Fusion: Interlacing Art and Technology, a web design competition that seamlessly blended creativity and technology. The event, designed to challenge and inspire participants, kicked off at 8:00 AM with an enthusiastic opening address by Alexander Manabat (Code Geeks Communications and Records Head). He highlighted the importance of fostering creativity in the tech space and the competition’s role in encouraging innovation among students.

Competition Flow
Following the introduction, Cedric Dungca (Academics and Research Officer) took the stage to explain the competition’s guidelines, instructions, and scoring rubrics. This ensured that all contestants clearly understood the evaluation criteria. Cedric then facilitated a short Q&A session, addressing concerns and clarifying rules before the competition began.
Once the rules were set, participants embarked on their design journey. With approximately six hours on the clock, contestants showcased their web design prowess, transforming their creative visions into fully functional digital designs.
Awards and Critique
As the competition concluded, Alexander presented certificates of participation to all contestants, recognizing their effort and dedication. This was followed by an insightful critique session, where judges provided valuable feedback on each design submission. Over the course of 30 minutes, they evaluated the entries thoroughly, offering constructive criticism and praising standout elements in each work.
To officially close the event, Alex Manabat together with Cedric Dungca and Gab Perez (President of Code Geeks) awarded certificates of appreciation to the judges, acknowledging their expertise and time in making the competition a resounding success.
