Welcome to Code Geeks!
On June 29, 2026, Code Geeks joined the School of Computing’s General Assembly. The event was held at the HAU University Theatre. It brought together hundreds of incoming freshmen for their first official look at the School of Computing. Furthermore, it was our opportunity to introduce Code Geeks to the next generation of aspiring developers.
CodeGeeks Takes The Stage

Spearheading the event was Kenaz Yanez, Events Management Head and the Project Head for this assembly, who led the planning and execution of Code Geeks’ presence throughout the day. Joining him on stage were our President Prince Laxamana and Vice President Dannah Sanchez, who collectively delivered an engaging presentation to a packed hall of freshman students.
The presentation walked the audience through what Code Geeks is all about, from our focus on Web Development projects to the exclusive benefits that come with membership, including workshops and certification review sessions, while also introducing a community of like-minded tech students. By many accounts, the presentation struck a chord with the crowd, with attendees noting how interactive and engaging the session was.
Registration Booth

While the speakers held the auditorium’s attention, the rest of the officers managed the organization’s booth. The setup featured Code Geeks’ signature orange-and-blue branding. Moreover, it served as a hands-on hub for freshmen who wanted to sign up on the spot.
Finance Officer Angel Pineda took charge of membership payments and registration. She made sure the process was smooth and welcoming for every student. Furthermore, free stickers were handed out to those who completed their sign-up. This small but well-received touch kept the energy at the booth high throughout the day.
Meeting the Aspiring Developers

Freshmen flocked to the Code Geeks booth throughout the event. Some were curious about what the organization could offer them. Others were drawn in by the free stickers. However, many stayed to genuinely learn more about the organization.
Officers were on hand to answer questions. They walked students through membership perks. In addition, they shared what being part of Code Geeks looks like in practice, the workshops, the community, and the real-world skills that come with it. As a result, many freshmen left with more than just a sticker. They left with a reason to look forward to what’s ahead.
Highlights

Among the many memorable moments was a photo with the Dean of the School of Computing, Dr. Marlon I. Tayag, as well as our organization adviser Dr. Alma Theresa Manaloto This was a fitting milestone that captured the spirit of the event. Furthermore, it brought students, faculty, and organizations together under one roof.
The freshmen we welcomed throughout the day made it all worth it. Seeing them engage and ask questions was a reminder of why Code Geeks does what it does. Moreover, it reinforced our commitment to building a community where students belong from day one.
To Everyone Who Joined Us, Once again, Welcome To Code Geeks!

Thank you to everyone who visited and connected with us at the SOC General Assembly 2026. To the freshmen who signed up or simply stopped by, welcome to the family. Additionally, we are excited to see you grow, learn, and build with us in the months ahead.
